In Canada, it has long been a public policy goal of encouraging arts and culture to flourish (survive) given the behemoth of the United States being so close and dominant. This has included government funding for musicians to get their songs recorded and released and so on. It’s always a risk for a government to be caught funding art it may not approve of!
This Vancouver “punk” band released an album in 2011 with a title likely jokingly intended to bash Christianity. It was cited by the Conservative federal government as inappropriate public spending.
Related, the same government cut funds to another arts program, “PromArt” in 2008, citing an “electronoise” group’s name, Holy F___.
