Tragically Hip – New Orleans Is Sinking

A song about something else could later become difficult to play given other events. Such may be the case for Canadian rockers The Tragically Hip, with this 1989 tune, considering 2005’s Hurricane Katrina.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation ranked this song the 16th greatest Canadian song, ever. Radio stations in New Orleans, Louisiana did stop playing it for a time, out of respect to the victims.

The same could all apply to Led Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks”?
