Sheryl Crow – Put A Woman In The White House

In high heels, Sheryl Crow cites some characteristics that men have not been able to accomplish as President, including balancing the books, loving and listening. This was for the 2012 presidential election, even though a woman was not on the ballot. The female attributes the song lists as credentials include stereotypes related even to high school home economic classes. But the song is also meant to be humorous, not a feminist anthem. And it raises the important issue of female under representation not just in executive positions such as the presidency, but in the legislatures, too.
