Paddy McGuigan – The Men Behind The Wire

In 1971, the British government conducted mass arrests of Republican sympathizers, that is, resisting British rule and supporting Irish independence. This song by Paddy McGuigan, a folk musician who performed with a group called Barleycorn, recounts how several hundred people including the singer were interned (put behind the wire) without trial.
