This song is about everyone being in a great hurry, without appreciating the purpose for their busyness.

Globalization is about the increasing interconnectedness people, societies and countries face, with free trade, money moving so easily, transportation efficiencies, and technology developments.

Globalization is cited as speeding up our world far more than Chicago imagined, back in 1969. Band members such as Peter Cetera, Terry Kath, Robert Lamm worried about few caring about the implications of a harried existence. Today, a criticism of globalization is it develops consumer sameness and cultural convergence. Thus it’s like the same time everywhere, and doesn’t really matter, not just on the clock but for our lives as a whole.
