Johnny Cash – Mr. Garfield

James A. Garfield was U.S. president for most of 1881. He was assassinated after 200 days in office, and remembered, in a song-story fashion, by Johnny Cash here (it’s a Ramblin’ Jack Elliott song, though).

Four presidents have been assassinated while serving their terms; we can add Abraham Lincoln, William McKinley and John F. Kennedy, to this tragic list.
