About

Politics is about how we create, identify and collectively resolve conflicts. Politicaltunes explains and critically assesses politics in popular music of all genres, from all eras:

  • Songs about political concepts, ideas and issues
  • Songs used for political reasons
  • Songs that have created political controversies
  • Songs with themes and ideas that can be used to explore political concepts

Every second day, a new song will be posted that will provide readers with a unique and tuneful way to learn about the world around them.

Visitors are encouraged to leave comments with their own thoughts and interpretations, and request new songs for review here. A complete listing of songs reviewed is regularly updated: playlist.

If you find a post in which the video link is no longer active, please leave a comment so this may be corrected.

    • Thanks for your support. There is certainly room for more blogs on politics and music. I would also be happy to help promote your efforts and look forward to your future posts.

  1. I just came across your blog, and it certainly provides a lot of information! I like that, because I want to know as much as possible of the messages in songs! I also have a tip for a song with a political message: Scorpions- Wind Of Change, which is referring to the fall of the Berlin wall. Keep up the good work!

  2. I apologize for posting this here, but I couldn’t find any contact email.

Please check out the 2-CD set produced and conceived of by noted percussionist Jeff Haynes, where Pete Seeger tells the stories of his life against the musical backdrop of superb performances by more than 40 musicians schooled in a panoply of styles.

    • Hello and thanks for the song suggestions, I appreciate your taking the time to share this with me. It would also appear this blog needs a clear area for song ideas to be reviewed that will be clear to readers.
